Serving the healthcare needs of the industrial town of Ankleshwar since 1986, Smt. Jayaben Mody Multispecialty Hospital has gracefully completed thirty-seven years of operation this year.
With the development of GIDC Ankleshwar in the 1970s and 1980s, there was a pressing need for healthcare services for the staff and workers in the area. At that time, no government hospital was available to provide medical facilities. Recognizing this need, the Mody family, which was running the Unique Group of Companies in Ankleshwar, decided to bring healthcare services within reach of the local and tribal populations who could not afford or travel to urban centers for expensive medical aid. Driven by their philanthropic spirit and vision, the family donated towards establishing the hospital in memory of their mother, Late Smt. Jayaben Mody.
Initially, a twenty-five-bedded hospital was set up in the GIDC housing quarters, which evolved into a full-fledged hospital by 1996. The hospital was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Suresh Mehta, in the presence of Swami Shridharanandji, President of the Ramakrishna Mission Lucknow. Over time, the hospital has expanded to become a 120-bedded, multi-specialty facility with all essential amenities and services. It serves not only Ankleshwar city, the industrial estate, and Bharuch city but also extends its services to sub-urban, rural areas, and tribal hamlets in the region.
Currently, Smt. Jayaben Mody Multispecialty Hospital, with a bed strength of 146, a full-time medical team of 17 specialists, a visiting team of 26 specialists, and a cancer radiation therapy center, is supported by well-trained and qualified nursing and paramedical staff, as well as an operations and administrative team. The hospital is dedicated to delivering quality medical care to all its patients. It also offers round-the-clock emergency services, a well-stocked medical store, and ambulance services at nominal costs. Committed to making wellness a way of life, the hospital is dedicated to serving humanity, whether in times of trauma or by promoting lifestyle changes for a healthier and happier living.
