Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

Stakeholder engagement and collaborate on is essential to any positive progressive effort especially when it is in the health care domain. The hospital has taken up Mission Cataract Free Bharuch and Mission Leprosy Free Bharuch by the year 2026 and in this direction on, we have onboarded various stakeholders from the District administration, Gram Vikas Trust, A. J. Mandal, Sankalp Foundation, social groups and experts. These include Mr. G. M. Patel, Deepak Nahar, Mr. Ramesh Kasondra, Mr. Vinod Jain, Mr. Kamlesh Dand, Mr. Suresh Nahar, Mr. Gautam Mehta, Dr. Hina Dhruv, Mrs. Jigisha Jhala, Dr. Raivshankar Jha, Mr. Kamal Shah, Dr. Sushant, Dr. Vipul, Mr. Sunil Chauhan and Mr. Sanjay Talati.

The working group formed of above stakeholders has been taking pains for training and awareness generation on regarding leprosy and blindness prevention on as well as treatment. Several trainings have been organised with the ASHA workers and Anganwadi workers of various PHCs in Ankleshwar, Netrang and Valia blocks to make them aware about the primary diagnosis and identification as well as a door-to-door surveillance is also being undertaken in Jitali, Mandva, Panoli, Matiyed, Dhanturiya, Valiya, Kondh, Mauza-kavchiya, Moriyana, Bilohi and Kara. Villages. The surveillance exercise identified 172 persons in need of eye care support and 471 suspected cases of leprosy, while mega ophthalmic camps conducted at Paniyadra, Panoli, Kharod, Dehli, Dahej identified 71 individuals in need of cataract surgery of which one has been successfully operated upon.

The project has identified 34 patients for cataract surgery and 4 for keratoplasty. The keratoplasty for one eye was successfully carried out for Mr. Mahendrasinh Bahadursinh Rana aged 52 years, a resident of Dahej village, who was treated for corneal opacity with a transplant.

Additionally, door-to-door surveillance is being carried out in Jitali, Mandva, Panoli, Matiyed, Dhanturiya, Valiya, Kondh, Mauza-Kavchiya, Moriyana, Bilohi, and Kara.

The project has identified 34 patients for cataract surgery and 4 for keratoplasty. A successful keratoplasty was carried out for Shri Mahendrasinh Bahadursinh Rana, aged 52 years, a resident of Dahej village, who was diagnosed with Corneal Transplant.
